Two Tinys Make it Big at the Twig!

 The joint poetry reading with Naomi Shihab Nye at the Twig Bookstore in San Antonio was a rousing success. Lucy Griffith read from We Make a Tiny Herd and the stories of the burro lady of Far West Texas were enthusiastically received. Then Naomi read from The Tiny Journalist  and fascinated everyone with the idea of an eleven year old’s bravery in Palestine. Lucy and Naomi then took questions and drew parallels between the two stories. Brave women, imagined voices, how to write about a mystery. Lastly, Naomi read one poem “One Small Sack in Syria” and Lucy read “The Burro Lady and the Goatherd meet in Heaven.”
